On Wednesday the 15th of May 2013 we left Grange Primary School at about 9:30. The sun was shining and we were excited about our trip.

 We were very lucky to have the mums of Lucas, Alexandra, Kaitlyn, Eve, Charley and Megan with us. Miss Patterson was an excellent tour guide and told us a lot of information about the landmarks we saw on our walk.

We enjoyed playing in Victoria Park and playing tag together on a field near the Mining Memorial Wheel. As a bonus we even saw a seal (which was spotted by Emily) at the docks. We wonder if you can spot it in the photograph? Have a look at the pictures and see if you can name the places we saw.

Can you spot anything in this photograph?

This term we will be learning about Bo’ness. The children have thought of lots of things that they want to find out about Bo’ness. In Science we will be learning about Light and Sound. We will be listening to Bible stories and stories from other religions. We will be identifying our Strengths and Weaknesses in Health and Wellbeing. We will think about how our strengths help us to do things well and how we can improve our weaknesses. We will keep you updated with what we are doing through the term.

 We planned and organised a fruit sale to raise money for a class trip. We made a profit of £7.85. We made posters, prepared the food, helped the shoppers and counted up the money we had made.

On Tuesday afternoon we welcomed Emily’s mum into our class to tell us about her experiences of farming. We looked at lots of photographs of different animals on the farm. We learnt about the many jobs that are done on a farm and why there are farms. We had lots of our questions answered!

Danielle “We have been halving and quartering numbers and shapes.”

Alexandra “We have been saving up money for our shop.”

Eve “We have the shop on Fridays and we are very excited when we come back.”

Primary 3 have been working very hard this term on our topic Food and Farming. In Social Studies we have been learning about different types of food. We then sorted them into dairy, fruits, vegetables, breads and meats. We especially enjoyed tasting the fruit.
In Health and Wellbeing we have been using our knowledge of food to create a healthy meal for Squeak our alien visitor! He likes to eat unhealthy food! We have also been thinking about how we can keep ourselves healthy. We have created exercise charts and sleep charts to record how much we are doing.
In Science we have been learning about living and non-living things. We have just been working with Primary 7 to plant grassheads, vegetables and herbs. Here are some photographs of us planting with Primary 7.
We have been working hard to earn money to spend in our class shop which opens this Friday morning!

This term we will be learning about lots of different things. Our topic will be The Romans and in RME we will be looking at Special Places and focusing on Hinduism and Hindu gods.  Our Health & Wellbeing topic is Keeping Safe and in Science we will be learning all about Electricity.  We hope to show you lots of our good work on our blog.
